Returns can change the scoreboard a little.

If you earned points from a purchase and then return that order, those points will be removed from your Rewards account since they were based on that purchase.

If you used points toward a purchase and then return that order, no worries—those redeemed points will be credited back to your Rewards account.

Basically, earned points go back with the return, while redeemed points come back to you. 🏆
